Return & Exchange Policy

Request a Return

  • SELF-RETURNS: To initiate a self-return, please login to your account using the email you provided during checkout. Once logged in, you can view your order history and choose the item(s) you would like to return (each item is subject to terms of approval based on our return/refund policies outlined below). Once we have received and reviewed your request, you can generally expect to hear back from us within 1-2 business days (via email) with either an approval or denial of your request. In order to provide you with the best possible communication, we do ask that you please do not mail any item back to us unless first approved. *See below for conditions of approval*

Request an Exchange

  1. You may exchange an item for a different size/style or print IF the item that you need is in stock AND your original item is returned to us in the same condition as it was received (not worn, washed or altered in any way WITH tags attached - see all conditions that must be met above in order to process an exchange).
  2. You will be responsible for the shipping cost of exchanges UNLESS you received an item due to a mistake on our end OR the brand/manufactured.

Returnable Items

  • The return request is received within 14 days of your delivery posted date, time stamped by the carrier, which is reflected on the tracking number for reference.
  • The product(s) are in its original condition: HAS NOT BEEN WORN, ALTERED, or WASHED.
  • The product(s) have all original tags attached and/or remains in its original packaging, showing no signs of defects, wear or tear to either the product or the packaging.
  • The product(s) were not purchased as a "FINAL SALE" (promotional or indefinite, pre-sale or pre-ordered specifically).
  • The product(s) are not holiday specific.

Non-Returnable Items

  • Any items exceeding 14 days from delivery.
  • Any item that has been laundered/washed, worn, altered, and/or shows any sign of visible wear or use cannot be returned, exchanged, or issued store credit (partial or full).
  • Any sale or promotional sale items are final and cannot be returned, exchanged, or issued store credit (partial or full). 
  1. Includes the following Holidays: Christmas, Hanukkah, Thanksgiving, Easter, Halloween, Pumpkin Styles, New Year's, 4th of July, St. Patrick's Day, and Valentine's Day. 
  2. Holiday items including apparel, accessories and Holiday specific toys or products (books, stockings, ornaments, etc.) cannot be returned and are final sale. 
  3. HOWEVER, YOU MAY EXCHANGE Holiday apparel for a different size if within the 30 days of purchase IF your exchange does NOT EXCEED THE HOLIDAY DATE and the item has not been worn, washed, or altered (see above for full exchange policy) *tags must also be attached*
  4. Store credit/refunds/exchanges will not be issued for unwanted Holiday items including said items that are bought solely for a one-time intentional use (i.e. - photography session). 
  • Any product directly purchased through Butter Bug Boutique (toy, apparel, gift, book, accessory, etc. of any kind) that shows visible defects noticed upon immediate receipt (up to 48 hours post confirmed delivery) of said item(s) that are to the best of your knowledge and in good faith NOT related to your own personal use/misuse or that of a child whether incidental or not should immediately contact the product brand, its representatives or customer service department directly for issuance of any possible exchange/refund or solution to the defective product that could be due to the following examples of [manufacturing defects]; holes in fabric upon receiving, broken embellishments, loose stitching/popped threads, inaccurate size labels, zipper or drawstring malfunctions, broken/damaged parts or pieces etc. To rephrase: IN THESE CASE EXAMPLES, YOU MUST CONTACT THE BRAND DIRECTLY FOR A POSSIBLE EXCHANGE OR REFUND; Butter Bug Boutique, LLC is not liable for manufacturing defects of any kind and adhere to strict guidelines of product inspections at the time of packaging, shipping, or during in-store checkout. *All orders that are packaged and prepared for shipping purposes are video monitored and recorded for quality assurance. 

Return Shipping

  • Return shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer with the exception of a mistake/human error we have made on our end. In this case, we are happy to send you a shipping label via email, once/if approved. 

Butter Bug Boutique does not cover return shipping costs under the following conditions:

  • You simply did not like the style/material of the item.
  • You decided you no longer need the item or did not like it.
  • You received an item size that does not fit. 
  • The product/item is damaged, due to its manufacturing. 

Bug Boutique will cover all return shipping costs if any of the following   circumstances occur:

  • We made a mistake with your order - hey, we are human, and it happens! We will do everything we can to make it right! This includes: the wrong size was received, the wrong product was received, etc. 
  • Once approved for your return or exchange, we will email you a paid shipping label. *Please check your spam folder if you do not see the emailed label within 2 operating business days.
  • Please note that return shipping cost is subject to vary based on several factors such as: proximity of your location to our store, the amount of items being returned, package type, and exact weight of the total parcel. 
  • Please carefully package your return, ensuring all items are resistant from weather conditions, sealed in a Poly mailer or an appropriately sized corrugated shipping box.

Return Processing + Communication

  • Returns will be processed once the item(s) are received and inspected by one of our team members to ensure that all relevant conditions outlined above have been met. The refund process can take up to 10 business days, starting from the time and date Butter Bug Boutique has received your returned package in hand.

  • NOTIFICATION OF AN ACCEPTED RETURN: If approved, you will be notified of your refund via email (please ensure that our customer service email or personnel correspondence have not been blocked or filtered by spam - RE: hello@butterbugboutique.com or any email ending in butterbugboutique.com).

  • NOTIFICATION OF A DENIED RETURN REQUEST: If for any reason your item(s) do not meet the requirements and conditions to process your request for an exchange or return, you will be notified within 2 operating business days.

 *Butter Bug Boutique personnel and staff reserve the right to give any immediate response or solution to a return request asked during operating hours IF there has not been a reasonable amount of time to review, process, and/or if needed: an appropriate amount of time for administrative approval. 

Presales | Preorders | Drops

  • Pre-sales and pre-orders are final sale and are non-refundable. Exchanges for store credit may apply only in the case of damaged items.
  • Unpaid orders will be cancelled one week after final invoice reminder is sent. Partial payment plans (codes) made on pre-orders and pre-sale orders will be forfeited should a customer not pay the total amount of the order.
  • Exchanges will be accepted only for sizing changes and will be based on product availability ONCE we receive our shipment and inventory is accounted for. 
  • You will be responsible for shipping the item back to us, IF approved, and will be charged a re-stock fee of $5 per item for any pre-sale or pre-order item. 
  • Orders placed on a release/drop day for any brand will be subject to a restocking fee of $10 IF you want to cancel your order AFTER it has been processed and shipped. We are not liable for paying the shipping cost to return the items. Once we receive your drop items (must be received within 5 business days) we will issue you a refund only if the items meet the conditions above (see section #1) MINUS the $10 Restock fee.
